The Bruce Lacey Experience

Bruce Lacey was an eccentric artist and performer. Back in the 80’s my husband was part of the Albion Fayre crowd, and recalls with great affection a particularly colourful evening spent with Bruce, Nick Turner (from Hawkwind) and an Ariel 500 with sidecar. It’s a world that seems so far away now. Bruce has some of his sculptures exhibited at The Tate, he played George Harrison’s flute-playing gardener in the Beatles’ feature film, Help, and even had a 15 minute film made about him by Ken Russell which linked him to Charlie Chaplin. About six years ago I was asked to model in a surrealist art project.
